PAWTUCKET
Pawtucket sits just north of Providence and punches above its weight with the Amet Public Library's children's programming.
Amet Public Library is the hub — 15+ weekly programs from baby story time to teen coding. The renovated children's wing has a STEM maker space and sensory reading nook. Slater Mill historic site offers family tours about early American industry. McCoy Stadium area has walking paths and playgrounds.
Working-class city with a strong community library culture. Programs are free and well-attended. Less polished than Providence but more accessible — parking is easy, lines are short, and kids are genuinely welcome.
Tip: Amet Library's LEGO Club (Mondays) and Science Experiments (monthly) are the most popular — arrive 10 minutes early for seats.
