FLYING HORSE CAROUSEL (WATCH HILL)

This carousel features 20 hand-carved horses suspended from chains, allowing them to swing outward as the ride spins, creating the "flying" effect that gives it its name. It is housed in a ten-sided wooden pavilion at the end of Bay Street and is maintained by the non-profit Watch Hill Improvement Society.
GOOD TO KNOW
Initially powered by a horse, it transitioned to water power in 1897 and was electrified around 1914.
